Kentgrove Village

Kentgrove Village is a small and friendly retirement village operated by UnitingCare Ageing – Western Region, a part of the community outreach of the Uniting Church in Australia. It consists of 49 independent (self-care) units.

The Village is adjacent to the Kenthurst Uniting Church, and its construction was a vision of the then Parish to which the church was attached. The church continues to have a close association with the residents, providing pastoral care and joint activities.

The Kenthurst shops are within walking distance (about half a kilometre away), and there is a local bus service to Castle Hill, which has a major shopping centre.

Village News    April 2019

We have welcomed many new Residents into our Village over the last couple of months.

It’s Winter time and many of our activities here at the Village don’t seem to deter anyone from joining in.

Our regular Friday night dinners have had interesting themes ~ from

Roast Dinners, Bar B Q’s and this month we are having a Pot Luck Dinner Night where a few of us bring a few varieties of different kinds of delicious cuisines.

Our Sunday morning Devonshire Teas continue to be popular with beautiful home made scones made by Mike O’Connell

In June we held a “Soup Luncheon” followed by Sticky Date or Lemon Puddings.

This may sound like we just eat and nothing else!!!

Our regular activities continue in a happy way.

We have a games afternoon every Wednesday.

  • Monthly it’s Bingo on Mondays
  • Craft mornings on Tuesday
  • Communion is held each month on Tuesday
  • Friday Shopping Bus picks up Residents venturing to Castle Towers for 4 hours.
  • Friday Dinner Nights
  • Saturday is Happy Hour
  • Sunday Morning Tea with Mike.

We invite anyone from Kenthurst Church who would like to join in any of these activities with us. If you would like further details please phone me and I would be happy to pass on details.

We wish you all well and good health over these few colder months.

Kindest regards
Gwenda Mackenzie
