Kentgrove Village

Kentgrove Village is a small and friendly retirement village operated by UnitingCare Ageing – Western Region, a part of the community outreach of the Uniting Church in Australia. It consists of 49 independent (self-care) units.

The Village is adjacent to the Kenthurst Uniting Church, and its construction was a vision of the then Parish to which the church was attached. The church continues to have a close association with the residents, providing pastoral care and joint activities.

The Kenthurst shops are within walking distance (about half a kilometre away), and there is a local bus service to Castle Hill, which has a major shopping centre.

Village News    April 2019

The Village has been terribly saddened by the sudden passing of Rod MacKenzie on 1st February. Rod played a massive role at our Village as Treasurer, Advisor, and in Leadership. He was a friend to all who live here. He also was my husband.

Our resident Ellie Bach passed away this month and our thoughts have been with Bob and his family.

We have had the opportunity to welcome several new residents who have moved in since The New Year. Our Friday night dinners are popular with varied themes of Roasts, Barbecues and “whatever we think up next!!!” Sunday Coffee Shop was started by Michael O’Connell late last year with his famous home made scones. Well done Mike you have been an amazing help to me as far as helping socially. I have asked Mike to help me with social events and he has.

Our regular activities continue to remain unchanged ~ Communion, Games afternoon, Craft and Bingo.

Many improvements have taken place including the instalment of brighter lighting in The Fellowship Centre.

We at The Village wish you at Kenthurst Uniting Church a very Happy Easter and all the very best until our next KENTGROVE VILLAGE NEWS.

Kindest regards
Gwenda Mackenzie
